"Sounds Like a Nightmare" is full of fast, gnarly songs like "All the Damned Vampires," "Faster and Harder than Death" and "Never Sleep Again." Film-score-inspired instrumental "A Place of Ghosts" and the sometimes soaring "Lords of Leather," might count as surprises. Recording with Ian Millard cemented the album's dynamic, hard-rock-meets-punk sound. -Brian Tucker

The winds test the fall The black calls and it comes again Old Gods come home Old Gods come home Behold bring forth a dark desire Come forth Baptize this world with fire Unfold Ten thousand Nights pinned up inside Five thousand fires will light the sky Within the oceans well rise the tides again And so it was So shall it be again The earth's flesh gets mauled As begging so is the end All gods have thrones All gods have thrones Untold initiate them all now Unfold Ten thousand nights pinned up inside Five thousand fires will light the sky Within the oceans well rise the tides again And so it was So shall it be again

I had a nightmare But you weren't there My dead juliet ...I can't forget I can't I drank your poison And sank inside your hell It is inside of my head and now I am a part of it In the throes of danger There is no right way out in the sins we've lost our way But we've found ourselves Let em try to tear us apart There's no escaping this I'd still visit every night If you If you weren't right here You see right through me Like nothings there I cant detach this Your cold Dark Stare It is fine Just tell me who, what, and where As for excuses You tell them we don't care Guns and knives and everything nice The stealing of lives Thy heart beats still Fire at will In the throes of danger There is no right way out In the sins We've lost our way But we've found ourselves All but one falls under the knife There's no escaping this Forever haunted There's no escape.

about

CAPE FEAR PUNK ROCK

"When you’re from the Cape Fear region of North Carolina, there’s some obligation to start a great horror punk band. While these Port City punks aren’t a traditional horror act, mixing in a multitude of genres like metal and pop punk, the music is morbid, dark and just as malevolent as anything else in the category. That divergence from the orthodox sound is exactly what sets them apart from the pack and adds to their appeal. Their debut, ten track LP Sounds Like A Nightmare, released back in November, is a great introduction to their dynamic sound, with every song vastly different than the one prior. One track will be a wailing, blood curdling rock ballad, followed up by a delicate, soothing, orchestral piece. "-DYINGSCENE.COM
